Tip of the month: Working with the plié

  1. Imagine pulling the tail under by lifting from the front of the abdominal muscles instead of squeezing the gluteal muscles.
  2. Relax the hip muscles on the plié descent instead of forcing the knees to turn out more.
  3. Imagine pulling the sits bones in toward each other on the ascent of the plié instead of gripping or tucking the pelvis.
